The Brucker family and friends along with Woodbrook Builders held an end-of-summer music festival Aug. 23 at their home in Penn Township to raise money for a local girl's wish with the Make a Wish Foundation. About 300 people attended. The event raised $3,400, enough money to grant a wish for a Butler County girl named Katherine.Five local bands, Sense in December, Fight the Flow, Ozone Itch, The Calamity and MINDS I performed. Festival highlights included a water balloon slingshot, a 50/50 raffle and a scavenger hunt.A Chinese auction raised over $800. The community and many local businesses donated prizes. Some of the auction prizes included Steelers' tickets, gym memberships and other valuable gifts. The Brucker family chose to raise money for the Make a Wish because the foundation recently fulfilled a Brucker family member's wish by sending her to Disney World prior to her passing. For more information on how to refer children or to volunteer, call the Make a Wish Foundation at 1-800-676-9474 or visit www.wishgreaterpa.org.—-
