Women's Club names Junior Woman of Year
The GFWC Junior Women’s Club of Butler named Suzanne Shewalter-Brown the 2012 Junior Woman of the Year during the closing dinner ceremony at the Butler Country Club on May 31.
Shewalter-Brown has been a club member since 2002 and over the years has served on the conservation, friendship & social, community service, reports/historian, parliamentary adviser and nominating committees.
She was active on the executive board for many years including club president in 2010-11.
For the 2012-2013 term, Shewalter-Brown will be active with local club events and serve as a co-chair for education at the state level.
After graduating from Butler High School in 1991, Shewalter-Brown earned an associate’s degree in business administration from the Butler County Community College, a bachelor’s degree in business logistics from Penn State and a master’s degree in elementary and special education from Chatham College.
She has been employed with the Midwestern Intermediate Unit IV for eight years as an inclusion support teacher.
