Gary Edward Young

Gary Edward Young, 61, of Butler passed away Tuesday at VNA Inpatient Hospice.

He was born Feb. 2, 1954, in Butler, the son of the late Paul and Marcella (Hesidenz) Young.

Gary was a member of St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus Council 866, the Happy Hunters Sportsman's Club, the East Butler Fireman's Club, the American Legion Post 117 and the R.C. Men's Club along with its Golf League.

Gary retired from A.K. Steel after 41 years of service.

Surviving are his wife of 37 years on June 3, Deb (Kaylor) Young of Butler; his daughter, Crystal Young-Erdos and her husband, Matthew Erdos, of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and his son, Scott Young and his wife, Maggi, of Harrisburg. He was “Pappie” to grandson, Foster Edward Young. Also surviving are a sister, Phyllis (Buck) Hindman of Butler, and two brothers, Paul (Alice) Young of Butler and Ron (Ann) Young of West Sunbury.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Terry Young.

YOUNG — Friends of Gary Edward Young, who died Tuesday, June 9, 2015, will be received from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler.Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, 210 St. Wendelin Road, Butler.
