HARRISBURG — Pennsylvania prosecutors are asking a judge for a hearing to determine if convicted child molester Jerry Sandusky should be designated as a sexually violent predator under the state's version of Megan's Law.

The attorney general's office on Wednesday filed a document announcing that it wants the classification for Sandusky and asking for the hearing before Judge John Cleland.

Chief Deputy Attorney General Frank Fina says prosecutors will rely on the testimony of an official with the state Sexual Offenders Assessment Board.

Sandusky defense lawyer Joe Amendola says that once Cleland schedules a hearing, he'll meet with Sandusky to determine if they should fight it.

JEANNETTE — The former supervisor at a Western Pennsylvania post office will spend five years on probation and pay a $5,000 fine for faking his own mugging.Prosecutors say 51-year-old Jeffrey A. Gogets of Greensburg collected over $9,000 in medical and employment benefits after he claimed he was robbed of $150 on his way to work at the Jeannette post office in April, 2011. Investigators determined Gogets threw away his wallet and car keys, broke a glass bottle, and inflicted some minor injuries before claiming he was mugged.U.S. Postal Inspectors took over the investigation after Jeannette police determined Gogets faked the mugging because he needed “a break from life.”

UNIONTOWN — A southwestern Pennsylvania woman has been jailed on charges she was flagging down motorists and offering to take off her clothes for cash.Online court records don't list an attorney for 35-year-old Jackie Hatter of Uniontown. She remained jailed Wednesday unable to post $25,000 bond.A newspaper reports Hatter was arrested about 8:40 a.m. Sunday and charged with disorderly conduct and marijuana possession. Police say they were told she was stopping cars to offer the striptease at an intersection in the city about 40 miles south of Pittsburgh.Police say Hatter was mumbling incoherently and fighting with officers.A preliminary hearing on the charges has yet to be scheduled.
