Community Health Clinic director resigns
SUMMIT TWP — Cece Foster, who had been the executive director of the Community Health Clinic of Butler County since it opened in January 2008, resigned abruptly last week.
David Konesni, president of the clinic’s board of directors, confirmed Foster resigned May 27.
He said the board is appreciative of her years of work for the clinic. He said she was responsible for much of its growth, including reaching more people and adding services and staff.
Konesni said Foster had finished the projects she was working on before she left the clinic.
“She was helpful in making the transition with her departure,” he said.
Konesni said Kim Reamer, the director of operations who oversees many of the clinic’s day-to-day operations, would take over many of Foster’s responsibilities, which include representing the clinic in the community and procuring funding.
He said during the next couple months the board will decide how to proceed and whether to seek a replacement.
The nonprofit clinic provides free primary health and dental care to individuals who cannot afford health insurance or who do not qualify for medical assistance. It has served more than 10,000 people since its start.
It has historically run on an annual budget of about $500,000.
It has a paid staff of fewer than 10, most of whom are part time, and it relies on about 150 volunteers who provide care and clerical assistance.
It is funded completely by private donations and grants.
