Inger Potochny, 95, of Lyndora died early Saturday morning at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, on Feb. 25, 1917, a daughter of Valdemar and Hedwig Sorensen Olsen.

She was a member of the St. Mark’s Evangelical Church in Butler and the TOPS Club 152. Inger enjoyed playing cards every Saturday with her friends, attending church services and eating out. She especially loved to watch her grandchildren and great- grandchildren and her grand-dog, “Gunner.”

A homemaker, in her younger years she also had worked part-time at Woolworths and Grant’s department stores.

She was the widow of John Potochny, who passed away Aug. 2, 1983. She also was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.

She is survived by three children and their spouses, Richard and Judy Potochny of McKeesport, Robert and Jeanne Potochny of Lyndora and Linda and Barry Seth of Worthington; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

POTOCHNY — Friends of Inger Potochny, who died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with her pastor, the Rev. Dr. Alden Towberman, officiating.
