Raymond Yovanovich

Raymond S. Yovanovich, 88, of Butler, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2022, at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born April 2, 1934, in Butler, he was a son of the late Steve N. and Mary (Senko) Yovanovich.

Raymond retired from the U.S. Air Force as a lieutenant colonel, following his military career.

He was a former commander for the Michael Kozar American Legion.

He enjoyed performing karate, as well as teaching self-defense. He also enjoyed the Institute of Learning in Retirement at Slippery Rock University.

Surviving are his many friends, who loved him very much, as well as his family in Croatia.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma A. Yovanovich, who passed away Sept. 12, 2006; his son, Steve Yovanovich; his parents; a sister, Vi; and a brother, Stephen.

YOVANOVICH — Friends of Raymond S. Yovanovich, who died Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2022, will be received from 10 a.m. until noon Saturday at GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.

A blessing service will follow at noon Saturday at the funeral home.

Interment will be at North Side Cemetery in Butler.
