A LOOK BACK

C.G. Taylor built the first

Taylorcraft airplane at the Butler-Pittsburgh Airport in 1936. He then moved the company to Alliance, Ohio, where it continued to manufacture planes until 1946.• According to “Butler County, the Second Hundred Years” by Audrey Fetters and Ralph Goldinger, Butler County manufactured a wide variety of items for personal and industrial use: John Roebling opened his cable factory in Saxonburg in 1841. Roebling moved to Trenton, N.J., in 1848.
