LYNDORA — A New Year's Eve dance will be held from 9 p.m. Dec. 31 to 1 a.m. Jan. 1 at Ukrainian Hall, Arbor Street.
Cost is $15 per person and participants should take their own beverages. Hot dogs and sauerkraut will be served at midnight.

BUTLER TWP — Butler County Community College will host its annual Light-Up Night: A Celebration of Winter Solstice from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the main campus, Campus Drive.The event will include 1,000 luminaries, free horse-drawn trolley rides and a visit from Santa Claus at 6 p.m.Games, crafts and stories for children will be available in the Convocation Center. Hot drinks and cookies will be served.The event is sponsored by the Phi Theta Kappa student honor society.
SARVER — The Sarver Free Methodist Church, 509 Sarver Road, will host a Christmas concert featuring country-style music from Randy Quinn at 10:45 a.m. Sunday.A second concert, featuring harpist Nicole Turley McAllister, will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
BUTLER TWP — Lifesteps will host free Child Check developmental screenings for children age 5 and younger from noon to 3 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday at Saxonburg Memorial Presbyterian Church, 100 W. Main St., Saxonburg.Each screening takes about 30 minutes and results will be discussed with parents immediately.Appointments are recommended. WEST SUNBURY — The Moniteau Extension Group will host its annual Christmas meeting at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the West Sunbury United Presbyterian Church social hall, 215 E.
