Ethel Mae Gawne, 78, of Connoquenessing Township, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Sept. 4, 2022, with her family by her side.

Born April 6, 1944, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Charles W. Gordon and Mildred J. Logan.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved husband of 55 years, Donald “Buzz” W. Gawne, whom she married on April 15, 1967; her three children, Elizabeth (James) Switzer, Donald (Heather) Gawne and David Gawne; six grandchildren, James Switzer III, Thomas Switzer, and Elliot, Madison, Rory and Kathryn Gawne; two sisters, Jean Hayes and Virda De Riso; and many nieces and nephews.

Although small in stature, her love for people was huge. Nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her kids and grandchildren, and her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

GAWNE — Friends of Ethel Mae Gawne, who died Sunday, Sept. 4, 2022, will be received for visitation from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER OF CONNOQUENESSING TOWNSHIP, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew.

A celebration of Ethel’s life will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Crossway Community Church, 109 Davis Road, Valencia, with Pastor Pat Summers officiating.

Ethel will be laid to rest privately at Mount Royal Cemetery in Glenshaw.
