John W. “Jack” Mellor
John W. “Jack” Mellor, 77, of Cranberry Township passed away Thursday while under the care of UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Township.
Born Oct. 14, 1939, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Harry C. and Anna Kuchinskas Mellor.
Jack was a member of Dutilh United Methodist Church for over 44 years, a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 729 in Mars, and a member of the Syria Shriners.
He owned and operated Greybrook Industries in Cranberry Township. In his free time, Jack loved to golf, bowl, garden and he especially enjoyed the company of people; he instantly became friends with everyone he met.
Jack was also an avid fan of the Pittsburgh sports teams. Above all, Jack loved his family, and he treasured the time he spent with them, especially his grandchildren.
Jack leaves behind to cherish his memory, his beloved wife of nearly 57 years, Elizabeth J. Turner Mellor, whom he married on Aug. 27, 1960; his three sons, John A. (Tracy) Mellor of Ambridge, Jeffrey A. (Michele) Mellor of Economy Boro, and Boe A. (Vicki) Mellor of Cranberry Township; six grandchildren, Justin John Mellor, Megan Nicole Mellor, Ryan Robert Mellor, Michael Allen Mellor, Hanna Elizabeth Mellor and Autumn Marie Mellor; and two great-grandchildren.
MELLOR — The family of Jack Mellor, who died Thursday, Aug. 17, 2017, will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Boylan-Glenn-Kildoo Funeral Home & Cremation Svcs., 130 Wisconsin Ave., Cranberry Township.A celebration of Jack's life will be held at 11 a.m., Monday at Dutilh United Methodist Church, 1270 Dutilh Road, Cranberry Twp., with the Rev. Tom Parkinson and the Rev. Doug Patterson co-officiating.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Jack's honor for the benefit of the Shriners Hospital for Children, 1877 Shriners Way, Cheswick, PA 15024.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with Jack's family at www.boylanfuneralservices.com.
