John F. “Jack” McCaffrey
John F. “Jack” McCaffrey, 74, of Cranberry Township passed away Monday in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his family.
Born July 29, 1943, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late John F. and Adelaide McCaffrey.
Jack proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy from 1961 until 1966 as a corpsman and as a pharmaceutical technician.
Before retirement, he was a sheet metal worker with Local Union 12.
He was a former member of St. Ferdinand's Parish choir and the Butler Barbershop Chorus. Jack was also a member of the Unionville American Legion Post 512.
He was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan, especially the Steelers. He will be dearly missed.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 53 years, Irene Young McCaffrey, whom he married on Nov. 13, 1964; his children, Lori (Ron), Toni (Greg), Shawn (Stacy), Derek (Amber), Summer and Savannah; his brothers, Gerald (Chris) and Robert (Phyllis); his sisters, Madeline (Gene) and Johanna (Frank); seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
McCAFFREY — Friends of John F. “Jack” McCaffrey, who died Monday, Jan. 8, 2018, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Boylan-Glenn-Kildoo Funeral Home, 130 Wisconsin Ave., Cranberry Township.A blessing service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.Jack will be laid to rest with honors at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his honor to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
