George E. Hicks
George E. Hicks, 86, formerly of Evans City, passed away peacefully Wednesday afternoon at the Evergreen Nursing Center, Harmony.
Born on Feb. 10, 1927, in Evans City, he was the son of the late William G. and Edna Walker Hicks.
He was a member of the St. John United Church of Christ, Evans City.
He had retired from the maintenance department of Armco Steel with over 40 years of service.
George was a member of the Harmony Lodge 429 F&AM.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty J. Fehl Hicks, on Nov. 11, 2008, and his daughter, Vicki, on June 8, 1965.
He is survived by his son, William G. Hicks of Sewickley; his two sisters, Doris Bauder of Zelienople and Mrs. Janet (Tom) Maxwell of Evans City; his four grandchildren, C. Michele Ntampaka, Jonathan W., Kaylyn N. and Matthew A. Hicks; his two great-grandchildren; and other loving family members.
HICKS — The family of George E. Hicks, who died Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013, will receive friends from noon to 12:30 p.m. Monday at the St. John's United Church of Christ, Evans City. The Harmony Lodge will hold Masonic services at 12:30 p.m. Monday with a memorial service at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Verna Call, his pastor, officiating.The funeral arrangements are entrusted to the A. Carl Kinsey-Ronald N.
