Walter Kenneth "Scruff" Toy Jr., 37, of Yatesboro, Armstrong County, died unexpectedly Thursday at ACMH Hospital.

He was born Jan. 14, 1970, in Kittanning, the son of Walter K. Sr., and Dorothy Goodgasell Toy.

Mr. Toy was a staff sergeant for the U.S. Army, serving in Panama during the U.S. invasion, as well as Bosnia, Germany, and 18 months in Iraq with the 30th Military Police Company. He served for a total of 17 years.

He was a supervisor at Summit Academy in Herman, and was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Worthington. He enjoyed time with family and friends.

Mr. Toy is survived by his parents of Worthington; his wife, Tracey Miller Toy; a daughter, Abigail, 3, and a son, Justin, 10 months, both at home; two sisters, Sandra Mercatell and her husband, Tony, of Cowansville, and Amber Boltz, and her husband, Dennis, of West Kittanning, and several nieces and nephews.

<B>TOY — </B>Friends of Walter Kenneth "Scruff" Toy Jr., who died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2007, will be received from 2:30 to 4:30 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at <B>SNYDER-CRISSMAN FUNERAL HOME,</B> in Kittanning. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Arlyn Eisenbrandt officiating. Burial will be in the Ford City Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made to a fund for his children at Citizens Bank in Franklin Village Shopping Center in West Kittanning.
