MEADVILLE — Butler High School graduate and Allegheny College senior women’s soccer star Becca Crissman was recently named to the North Coast Athletic Conference First Team.

A midfielder, Crissman started 18 games for the Gators and helped the team post an overall record of 11-5-3.

GREEN BAY, Wis. — Wide receiver Greg Jennings will be on the sideline as the Green Bay Packers make their push for a perfect regular season. Come playoff time, the Packers expect to have him back.Coach Mike McCarthy said Monday that Jennings will miss two to three weeks with a knee sprain, but is likely to return for the postseason.<B>MWC to request BCS automatic bid</B>LAS VEGAS — The Mountain West Conference will ask for an automatic bid to the Bowl Championship Series for the 2012 and `13 seasons.The MW announced Monday that its board of directors approved making the request.The BCS rules allow a league without automatic qualifying status to request an exemption for the next two seasons if its teams met certain performance standards from 2008-2011.<B>Kuechly named top defensive player</B>CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Boston College linebacker Luke Kuechly won the Bronko Nagurski Trophy given to the nation's top college defensive player.Kuechly received the honor at a banquet Monday night.The other finalists were LSU defensive back Morris Claiborne, Alabama defensive back Mark Barron, Illinois defensive end Whitney Mercilus and Penn State defensive tackle Devon Still.<B>Cardinals, Furcal reach 2-year deal</B>ST. LOUIS — The St. Louis Cardinals and shortstop Rafael Furcal have agreed to a $14 million, two-year contract, keeping the switch-hitter with the World Series champions after they picked him up at the July trade deadline.The deal is pending a physical. A team spokesman said Monday night that the Cardinals hope to finalize the contract this week.<B>Hernandez agrees with Rockies</B>DENVER — The Colorado Rockies have bolstered their depth at catcher, agreeing to a $6.4 million, two-year contract with veteran Ramon Hernandez.In other moves Monday, the Rockies agreed to a $2.75 million, one-year deal with pitcher Kevin Slowey ($2.75 million) and declined to offer 2012 contracts to outfielders Ryan Spilborghs and Cole Garner.<B>Clippers match offer on Jordan</B>OAKLAND, Calif. — The Los Angeles Clippers have matched Golden State's four-year, $42.7 million offer for center DeAndre Jordan.The teams announced the move Monday.Golden State signed Jordan to the offer sheet Sunday. As a restricted free agent, the Clippers had three days to decide whether to match the contract.
