Burton Carl Brewster
Burton Carl Brewster, 88, of Butler died Saturday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.
He was born Oct. 12, 1929, in Butler, to the late Carl A. Brewster and the late Laura Navada McFadden Brewster.
Burton served as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army Infantry with the Allied Occupation Forces in Japan from 1946 to 1948 and during the Korean War from 1950 to 1951. He worked in the Strip Shears Department at Armco for 42 years before retiring Jan. 27, 1990.
Burton was a member of North Main Street Church of God and belonged to the 5th Regimental Combat Team Association. He enjoyed watching baseball, mowing his lawn and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Vanda Mae Diehl Brewster, whom he married Aug. 20, 1948; two sons, Burton D. Brewster and his wife, Peggy, of Chicora, and Thomas L. Brewster and his wife, Karen, of State College, Pa.; one daughter, Brenda L. Collins and her husband, Edward, of Middle Point, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; one brother, Donald L. Brewster of Oregon; one sister, Winifred Vinroe of Butler; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Christine Marie Collins; and one sister, Lois Brewster Morrow.
BREWSTER — Friends of Burton Carl Brewster, who died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017, will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E.
