Janet L. Shever, 100, formerly of Butler, passed away Thursday at 9:05 p.m. from the Paramount Senior Living at Cranberry.

She was born April 26, 1912, in Connoquenessing to the late Eli Henshaw and Estella (Rader) Henshaw.

Mrs. Shever was a homemaker. She was a member of Grace @ Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church. Mrs. Shever enjoyed sewing, baking, crafts, traveling and fishing.

Mrs. Shever is survived by four daughters, Shirley Lyon and her husband, Samuel, of Butler, Karen Grosclaude of Prospect, Janice Steffenauer and her husband, David, of Bloomsburg and Joyce Kopp and her husband, Terrance, of the Woodlands, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one son-in-law, Richard Horan of Chapel Hill, N.C.; two sisters, Betty Schaefer of Zelienople, and Geraldine Smith of Connoquenessing; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Blair E. Shever, who she married on April 26, 1937, and who passed away on Oct. 17, 1994; one daughter, Dolores Horan; one brother, Beryl Henshaw; and one son-in-law, Thomas Grosclaude.

SHEVER — Friends of Janet L. Shever, who died Thursday, March 28, 2013, will be received Monday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler. Funeral services will be held immediately following at 8 p.m. with the Rev. Don Short of Grace @ Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating.

Burial will take place in the Butler County Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Grace @ Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church, 123 E. Diamond St., Butler, PA 16001.
