Butler High School graduate
Spencer Keasey Scanlon organized a benefit concert Jan. 13 at the Glasslands Gallery in Brooklyn, N.Y., to honor his late sister Gillian Blair Scanlon, who was murdered in 2008 in Miami.More than 60 people attended Gillian Blair Scanlon's Party In The Sky and helped raise $3,500. Proceeds were donated to Safe Horizon, a shelter that aids victims of domestic violence in the New York area.Six bands donated their time: Lagoon, Controlled Storm, Inlet, Christopher Paul Stelling, Outernational and No Place.Spencer Keasey Scanlon graduated in 2002 and Gillian Scanlon graduated in 2003 from Butler High School.Their parents Paul and Judy Scanlon live in Butler.Scanlon runs an artist management and publicity firm called Keasey Media in Brooklyn, N.Y.Donations in Gillian Blair Scanlon's name can still be made to Safe Horizon at www.safehorizon.org.———The
