Barbara Zimmel, 83, of Butler passed away Friday at her daughter and son-in-law's residence.

Born in Blairsville, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Josephine Pesci Zimmel.

She retired from Butler Memorial Hospital, where she worked in the billing department.

She was a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church.

Barbara enjoyed shopping, cooking and being in the sun.

Surviving Barbara are her daughter, Richele (Bill) Ward, of McCandless; her granddaughter, Kennedy Ann Ward, of McCandless; one brother, Bob (Maureen) Pesci, of Simpsonville, S.C.; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joyce and Bill Zimmel, respectively, of Chambersburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Zimmel; and two brothers.
