Gregory Paul Byerly
Gregory Paul Byerly, 58, of Butler passed away Sunday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born Oct. 25, 1958, in Akron, Ohio, he was a son of the late Lawrence T. and Priscilla J. Bradley Byerly.
Greg loved spending time with family and friends. He was a hunter and fisherman and was an avid fan of the Pirates, Steelers and Penguins. He also enjoyed playing computer games.
He was baptized in the Catholic faith and was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler.
He was employed by the Outdoor Army Navy Store of Butler for 21 years. He also worked for the Air Turbine Propeller Co. of Zelienople for 13½ years and was currently employed by the James Austin Co. of Mars.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara A. Brady Byerly, whom he married May 6, 1978; two sons, Joshua A. and his fiancée, Kimberly Davis, and Brian T. and his girlfriend, Amanda Westerman; two grandchildren, Lilly J. and Adam T. Byerly and their mother, Christine Heinsberg, of Slippery Rock; one brother, Lawrence T. (Dianne) Byerly of Cincinnati, Ohio; one sister, Theresa (Thomas) Brown of Butler; three sisters-in-law, Pamela S. Hrip of Maryland, Deborah K. Brady and Lori Hoffman Brady, both of Butler; three nieces, Jennifer Hrip Browning of Maryland, Elizabeth A. Brady of Cranberry Township and Abigail E. Brady of Butler; two nephews, Dustin Byerly of Vermont and Tommy Brown of Butler; and one aunt, Sally Jane Byerly.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife's parents; one infant brother, Jeffery; many aunts and uncles; and his beloved cat, “Precious.”
BYERLY — Friends of Gregory Paul Byerly, who died Sunday, May 28, 2017, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.A blessing service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Anthony Sciarappa to officiate. Interment will follow at the Greenlawn Burial Estate in Mount Chestnut, Pa.Memorial donations may be made to the Butler County Special Olympics, P.O. Box 2561, Butler, PA. 16003.
