Succop Theater lineup includes variety of talents

Veritas, a five-member vocal group that performs a wide variety of music from Gospel to selections from the American songbook, will appear as part of the Performing Artists Mini-Series at Butler County Community College.

BUTLER TWP — The Succop Theater at Butler County Community College is getting ready to host the 14th Performing Arts Series since the theater opened in 2002.

Following the format of the past two years, the series presents a Performing Artists Mini-Series, a Local Artists Mini-Series and the Pittsburgh Philharmonic Mini-Series.

Performing Artists

All shows in the Performing Artists Mini-Series begin at 8 p.m. The four shows, three on Fridays and one on a Saturday, will feature:

Bodiography Contemporary Ballet, a Pittsburgh dance company, Sept. 26

River City Brass Band, Jan. 15, 2016

Veritas, a five-member vocal group that performs music from Gospel to selections from the American songbook, Feb. 19, 2016

Duquesne University Tamburitzans, a showcase of music and dance from Eastern Europe, April 15, 2016.

Local Artists

The Local Artists Mini-Series begins in August. Shows begin at different times on various days of the week.

“The Prodigal Sons” by Valencia writer/composer Jeannie Allen, 7:30 p.m. Aug. 28 and 29 and at 2 p.m. Aug. 30

Erie Chamber Orchestra Trio, 7:30 p.m. Oct. 2

The Jim Cunningham Sextet, 2 p.m. Feb. 28, 2016

Tornado Big Band, 7:30 p.m. May 5, 2016.

Philharmonic

This season marks the 25th anniversary of the Pittsburgh Philharmonic.

The group's mini-series will feature four concerts, all beginning at 8 p.m. Fridays.

Spring is in the Air, March 11, 2016

Russian Finale, May 20, 2016.

Tickets start at $10 for the Local Artists, $15 for the Philharmonic, and $20 for the Performing Artists.
