Alfred F. Smith, 69, of Butler passed away Monday morning at his home.

Born on Feb. 3, 1945, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Alfred Herbert and Mary Jane Zeigler Smith.

He retired from PennDOT as a truck driver for the PA Turnpike Maintenance, where he loved the snow plow trains clearing the snow.

He was a devout Christian who loved classic cars and the John Force Racing in Drag Racing Series. He was also an avid Steelers fan.

Surviving are his two sons, Patrick L. (Melissa) Smith of Pittsburgh and Ronald J. (Karletta) Smith of Monroeville; his grandchildren, Denise, Joshua, Jessica, Joanna, and Tyler Smith, and his nieces and nephews, Valorie Jessica Raines, and Wayne, Jeffrey and Thomas Miller, all of Sissonville, W.Va.

Smith— The friends of Alfred F. Smith, who passed away Monday, Nov. 24, 2014, will be received from 5 p.m. to services at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.
