Darlene Oertel

Darlene M. Oertel, 68, of Connoquenessing Township passed away at 8 a.m. Monday at her home.

She was born on Feb. 26, 1946, in Butler, to the late Herbert W. Orth Sr. and Jane D. Cubbison Orth.

Darlene was a machine operator at Mailing Services of Pittsburgh.

She enjoyed camping, playing bingo and working on cars with her husband.

Darlene was a graduate of Butler High School, Class of 1964.

Darlene is survived by her husband, William A. Oertel, who she married on July 19, 2003; her children, Michelle Hays of Butler, Richard M. Wolfe Jr. and his wife, Janet, of Brandenburg, Ky., Traci Shearer and her husband, Randy, of Butler and Tim Wolfe and his girlfriend, Holly, of Butler; her five grandchildren, Krysti Weaver, Travis Wolfe and his wife, Renee, Bekah Mora and her husband, Yuri, Blake Shearer, and Tyler Shearer; her two great-grandchildren, Crystal Wolfe and Audriana Mora; her two brothers, Herbert W. Orth Jr. and Ronald W. Orth, both of Butler; her three sisters, Marian J. Scott and her husband, Scotty, of Slippery Rock, Delores J. “DeDe” Collins of Rocklin, Calif., and Karen A. Manny of Butler; her five nieces; and her six nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Robert Hays; her grandson, Brandon Weaver; her nephew, Harold Scott Jr.; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Oscar and Carrie Oertel.

Oertel— The friends of Darlene M. Oertel, who passed away Monday, Dec. 1, 2014, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to services at 8 p.m. Thursday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler, with the Rev. Bill Glassman of the Living Word Evangelical Free Church officiating.
