Mary P. Cochrane
Mary P. Cochrane, 85, of Butler passed away Monday at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Born March 23, 1930, in Pittsburgh, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Mary (Miller) Layfield.
She was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Herman. She was a member of the Legion of Mary.
She had been employed as a secretary for the Capuchin Franciscans. She retired in 1995, following 22 years service.
Surviving are her daughter, Denise Hartman and her husband, David Ruttan, of Alameda, Calif.; her son, Russ Hartman and his wife, Lynn Holl, of Langhorne, Pa.; her stepson, Ken (Kim) Cochrane of San Rafael, Calif.; her grandchildren, Julia, Daniel, David Hartman, Kelly Cochrane and Nate Ruttan; four sisters, Muriel Meyers of Marco Island, Fla., Jane Olejniczak of Carnegie, Pa., Frances Berman of Braddock Hill, Pa., and Esther Galayda of Pittsburgh; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Cochrane, who passed away March 3, 1983; two sisters; and one brother.
COCHRANE — There will be no public visitation for Mary P. Cochrane, who passed away Monday, Nov. 9, 2015.A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, 821 Herman Road, Butler. Inurnment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery.Arrangements are being handled by the Geibel Funeral Home, Butler.
