Shields W. Macurdy, 83, of Worthington died Saturday at ACMH Hospital.

Born March 27, 1929, in Buffalo Township, he was the son of the late Shields and Alice (Risch) Macurdy.

He retired from Moonlight Mushrooms after 40 years. He attended the Worthington Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed fishing.

Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Donna (Crawford) Macurdy; daughter, Cindy Flick of Worthington; sons, Allen (Jackie) Wolfe of Worthington and Bryan Wolfe of Worthington; grandchildren, Stefanie Flick, Joshua Flick, Tyler Wolfe, Colon Wolfe and Rylee Wolfe, all of Worthington; brothers, Odley (Emma) Macurdy of Cabot and Glenn (Darlene) Macurdy of Cabot; and sisters, Anna Mae (Howard) Sample of Saxonburg and Sandra Lee (Bob) Stivenson of Saxonburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Leon Macurdy; sister, Geraldine Pifer; and daughter, Patricia Thompson.

MACURDY — Services for Shields W. Macurdy, who died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, will be private and are being handled by the F. Duane Snyder Funeral Home in Worthington.Contributions in his memory can be made to the Worthington Presbyterian Church.
