Nancy Hiles

Nancy J. Hiles, 85, of Fairview passed away Monday at UPMC Shadyside.

She was born on Nov. 20, 1928, in Butler, the daughter of the late Robert G. and Bessie Hindman Given.

Nancy was a lifetime resident of the area and graduated from Fairview Township Karns City High School.

For 36 years, she worked at Witco as the assistant to the office manager.

Nancy was a member of the Fairview United Presbyterian Church and belonged to the Chicora Order of the Eastern Star 354. She also was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the Petrolia Fireman's Ladies Auxiliary.

Nancy had a number of interests, which included knitting, crocheting, reading, playing cards, bowling and playing golf. Family was important to Nancy, and she cherished the time spent with them — especially with her grandchildren who were the pride of her life. There was also a special place in her heart for her dog, Krissie.

Nancy will be best remembered for her easygoing personality and kind heart. She will be sadly missed by the many people whose lives she has touched.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her sons, Bob Hiles and his wife, Barb, Tom Hiles and David Hiles and his wife, Linda, all of Petrolia; her daughters, Cindy Kelly and her husband, Duane, of Butler and Candy Ridley and her companion, John Morrow, of Karns City; her grandchildren, Amy Regan and her husband, Patrick, Rob Hiles and his wife, Amy, Brent Corbett and his wife, Joanie, Michael Hiles and his wife, Erin, Bryan Ridley and his wife, Crystal, Nathan Ridley, Angela Hiles, Duane Hiles, Ashlee Hiles and Justin Hiles and his wife, Tonya; her great-grandchildren, Max and Liam, Cassidy, Coltan and Caiden, Dylan, Cole, Gabrielle and Gavin, Andriah and Zoey, Kyra and Spencer, Emily, Kaylee and Riley, Trevor, Jamilyn and Ayriana, Garrett and Maren; her great-great-grandchild, Maverick; and her numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Gerald W. Hiles, who she married on Feb. 19, 1949, and who passed away in September 2000.

Argyle St., Petrolia.Additional visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev.
