John Dalmagro
John Dalmagro, 84, of Butler, passed away Thursday at his home.
He was born March 13, 1932, in Butler to the late Jack Dalmagro and the late Margaret Dalmagro.
John was a member of the Walkchalk Salem Baptist Church. He served in the Army during the Korean War. Mr. Dalmagro then worked as a machinist for Pullman Standard and then was a rural letter carrier before retiring. John enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Anne Hedrick Dalmagro, who he married Sept. 18, 1954; five daughters, Susan Mentch of Penn Run, Pa., Gloria Jean Johnston of Rimersburg, Peggy Wilson of Butler, Nancy Johnson of Kittanning, and Maryellen Smith of Butler; his son, William John Dalmagro of Butler; three grandsons, Josh Mentch, Brian Johnston and Anthony Dalmagro; 10 granddaughters, Marianne Mentch, Karlee Johnston, Lindsay Allen, Sarah Kitchen, Emily Green, Kristen Donalson, Amy Repack, Becca Johnson, Alyssa Dalmagro and Mikayla Elias; two great-grandsons, Luke Green, and Landon Donelson; five great-granddaughters, Ava Green, Natalie Donelson, Cierra Kitchen, Cora Mentch and Emma Mentch and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Anna Dalmagro, Angie Caterno, Olive Radish and Mary Wright.
DALMAGRO — Friends of John Dalmagro, who passed away Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Carl Johnson of St. John's Lutheran Church in Kittanning, son-in-law of Mr. Dalmagro, officiating.
Burial will take place in the Butler County Memorial Park.
Officers and members of the American Legion Post 117 Butler, the American Legion Post 778 Lyndora and the VFW Post 249 Butler will conduct military honors at the cemetery following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. John's Lutheran Church, 218 N. Jefferson St., Kittanning, PA 16201.
