Doerr

Our dear father, brother, son, William James Doerr Jr., 71, of Slippery Rock, passed away quietly with his family on Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2022.

William (Jim) was born on July 5, 1951, in Butler, the son of the late William James Doerr Sr. and Catherine (Trimbur) Doerr.

His joys in life were his grandchildren, gardening and music. He was a talented guitar player who was in many bands over the years. He spent his career at AK Steel, worked hard and never shirked at a task. He loved his family, friends and animals. He had a great sense of humor, was cheerful in all weather and will be sorely missed by many.

William is survived by his three children, daughter Sarah Elaine Doerr of Phoenix, Ariz.; son William (Bill) James Doerr III and his wife, Kathleen Marie Doerr, of Butler; and son, Orren Paul Doerr of Butler; grandsons, William James Doerr IV and Hunter James Ferrer; brother, Rick Doerr of Butler; and two sisters, Doreen Doerr of Butler and Diane (John) Henry of Meridian.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Linda Gale (Jury) Doerr; and brother, Stephen John Doerr.

DOERR — Friends of William James Doerr Jr., who died Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2022, will be received from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, 2022, at YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, to remember and honor the life of William.
