John Wagner
John Leon Wagner, 76, of Butler, peacefully passed away at his residence Friday evening, Aug. 26, 2022.
Born Jan. 28,1946, at home, he was the son of the late Philip Charles and Elnora Mae Moyer Wagner.
He retired in the mid-1990s from the former Warehouse Sales and Trader Horn stores, where he worked and was a store manager for many years.
John was a member of the White Oak Springs Presbyterian Church, Renfrew.
He will be remembered for his woodworking projects and being a lifelong Jeep enthusiast. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed going to Lernerville Speedway, where he was a pit crew member. He enjoyed dominos, jigsaw puzzles and playing cards with his wife nightly.
He is survived by his wife, Jane; his children, Mitch (Tina) Wagner of Slippery Rock, Lori (Greg McCool) Yonker of Prospect, Greg (Tim) Wagner of Gastonia, N.C., Sue Heichel of Butler, Connie Heichel of Bradenton, Fla., David (Lynn) Heichel of Marquette, Mich.; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Ralph Wagner and Richard Wagner; and a nephew.
WAGNER — Visitation for John Leon Wagner, who died Friday, Aug. 26, 2022, will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Tuesday at RAISLEY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 387 Main St., Prospect.
The funeral service will follow at 5 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Jason Sinagra, pastor at Presbyterian Church of Prospect, officiating.
