Hegerty

Timothy Dwight Hegerty, 65, of Portersville, passed away on Aug. 14, 2022.

He was from Pittsburgh, born to Regis and Sylvia Wiedner Hegerty.

After serving in the U.S. Navy, Tim worked as a mail handler for the U.S. Post Office.

He graduated from North Catholic High School, where he loved playing on the football team.

Tim was a devoted husband to Cheryl Hegerty. He was hard working, kindhearted and a compassionate man, who cared deeply about the world. Tim had a huge heart for pets and rescuing animals. He loved the woods. He was an outstanding chef and loved making his family happy with his delicious meals. He also adored and was incredibly grateful for his friends at his local brewery. He was an avid Steelers and Penguins fan. One of his favorite things was going to the beach with his family.

He will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his wife, Cheryl; son, Patrick; stepchildren, Matthew and Christie; sisters, Diane Tremel and Linda Baronowski; brothers, Ken Hegerty and Regis Hegerty; and grandchildren, Adia, Luke, Ember and Gideon, who knew him affectionately as “PaPap.”

HEGERTY — The family will have a private gathering to celebrate Timothy Dwight Hegerty, who died Sunday, Aug. 14, 2022.
