Grenci

Robert D. "Bob" Grenci, formerly of Butler, passed away July 13, on his 82nd birthday, in Vista, Calif.

He was born July 13, 1928, in Argentine, Washington Township.

He served in the U.S. Army for three years.

He met his wife while working at the Hot Dog Shop in Butler.

Bob was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus in Butler.

He was an avid sports enthusiast who was involved with Butler Bantam League Baseball for several years. He also was a championship level billiards player.

He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church before he moved to Oceanside, Calif., in 1979.

He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1984 after 30 years.

Bob was an active member and past exalted ruler of the Oceanside Elks Lodge, where he volunteered for numerous worthy causes. He also was a member of the American Legion and the Old Mission Beach Athletic Club (OMBAC) in San Diego. He organized various group trips to casinos and a variety of nonprofit bingos. He was a member of the Mission San Luis Rey Parish.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Juneabelle E. (Jinx) Grenci, who passed away Feb. 28, 2010; his parents, Luigi and Catherine Grenci; and four brothers, Joseph "Joe," Mario, Earl and Dominick "Dom" Grenci.

He is survived by his brother, Anthony "Tony" Grenci of Butler; sons, Robert "Bobby" Grenci of San Diego, Calif., Louis "Lou" Grenci of La Quinta, Calif., Michael "Mike" Grenci of New Castle and Daniel "Dan" Grenci of San Diego, Calif.; daughter, Theresa Lambert of Oceanside, Calif.; grandson, Brenden Lambert of Alameda, Calif.; and granddaughter, Keelin Lambert of Oceanside, Calif.

<B>GRENCI </B>— A Mass service and inurnment for Robert D. "Bob" Grenci, who died July 13, 2010, will be held at the Mission San Luis Rey in Oceanside, Calif.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Robert D. "Bob" Grenci to the Silverado Hospice of San Diego, 335 Saxony Road, Encinitas, CA 92024; or to the Oceanside Elks Lodge, 1561, 444 Country Club Lane, Oceanside, CA 92054.
