Helen F. Painter

Helen F. Painter

Helen F. Painter, 92, of Evans City passed away on Monday at Good Samaritan Hospice at Wexford.

Born Dec. 8, 1922, in Stoneboro, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Frances (Boyd) Trevitt.

Helen was a faithful member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Evans City for over 70 years, where she held the position of superintendent of the children's Sunday school. She also worked as a teacher at both Evans City High School and Seneca Valley High School.

Helen participated in the Community Choir for over 20 years and volunteered for Meals on Wheels. She was a past president of the Junior Women's Club and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Evans City.

In her free time, she enjoyed playing piano, playing cards, and was an avid Pirates fan. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.

She leaves behind to cherish and honor her memory, her beloved children, Rick (Sally) D. Painter of Evans City, Ronald D. Painter of Silver Springs, Md., and Beth Ann (Jeff) Stamp of North Little Rock, Ark.; her daughter-in-law, Patricia Painter; her brothers, Richard and Walter Trevitt, both of Stoneboro; her sisters, Margaret Boyd of Sandy Lake, Ellie Smith of Grove City and Kathleen Norville of Millersville, Md.; her eight grandchildren, Edward J. (Jennifer) Painter, Tiffany L. Painter, Michele L. (Shawn) Painter-Holmberg, Sarah Crawford, William P. (Caitlin) Painter, Gregory T. (Carolyn) Painter, Alexis L. (Michael) Stamp-Boster and Benjamin T. Stamp; and her seven great-grandchildren, Baillie and Alaina Holmberg, Caleigh and Isaac Boster, and Sawyer, Hadley and Emerson Painter.

Helen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William D. Painter, who passed away Oct. 13, 2006; and her two sons, John D. Painter and William D. Painter II.

Helen and Bill celebrated 60 years of marriage together.

We honor Helen through one of her favorite verses, “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you,” John 14:2.
