Thomas A. Grossman

Thomas A. Grossman, 87, of Sidney, Ohio, passed away at 6:40 p.m. Saturday at his residence surrounded by family.

He was born on Nov. 3, 1930, in Butler, and was the son of the late Lewis and Sarah (Forsythe) Grossman.

On July 16, 1982, he married Carolyn Spangler, who survives him along with four children, Thomas D. (Gereldine) Grossman, Timothy L. (Nancy) Grossman, Karen S. (Joseph) Burgoon and Lucinda M. (Donald) Wilson; four stepchildren, Larry (Lisa) Schroer, Steven Schroer, Kathleen Lambert and Mark Schroer; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 11 step-great-grandchildren; and two siblings, Velma Fenrick and Jerry L. Grossman.

He was preceded in death by 11 siblings.

Mr. Grossman was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

He was a 32nd degree Mason, Master Mason and Shriner.

He belonged to the Sidney American Legion Post 217 and was a member of Sidney Gateway High 12.

Thomas was retired from Zurn Industries, where he served as a construction superintendent and consultant.

GROSSMAN — The family of Thomas A. Grossman, who died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017, will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave., Sydney, Ohio.Masonic services will be held at 12:45 p.m. at the funeral home.Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Donald Spangler officiating.A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday at the United Church of the Nazarene in West Sunbury.Burial with military honors provided by the Sidney American Legion will follow at Graceland Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made to Wilson Hospice Care in Thomas' memory.Condolences may be expressed to the Grossman family at our website, www.cromesfh.com.
