Frederick E. Gerner

Frederick E. Gerner, 93, of Cabot passed away Sunday at Concordia Lutheran Ministries.

Born on March 8, 1922, in Cabot, he was the son of the late Roy Arthur Henry Gerner and Carrie E. Witte Gerner.

Fred served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Fred had owned Roy A. Gerner and Sons Trucking, Gerner Trucking and Fred Gerner Trucking.

He was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Saxonburg, the Armstrong Lodge 239 F&AM in Freeport, the New Castle Consistory, Syria Shrine and the Saxonburg American Legion.

Surviving are his daughter, Judy Moser of Cabot; his son, Bill Gerner of Etters; his five grandchildren, Leigh (Michael) Frailey, Cristie (Michael) Crytzer, Eric (Jennifer) Moser, Tara (Joe) Ziegmont and Amanda Gerner; his stepgranddaughter, Virginia (Eric) Weygant; his seven great-grandchildren; his step-great-granddaughter; his brother, Walter Gerner of Sarver; and his two sisters, Marilyn Fugh of Butler and Edna Mae Gerner of Pittsburgh.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes I. Walters Gerner, on Sept. 21, 2013.

Gerner— The friends of Frederick E. Gerner, who passed away Sunday, March 15, 2015, will be received from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Fox Funeral Home, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg.Services will follow at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Rev. Roger Keller officiating.
