Robert F. Hartzell
Robert F. Hartzell, 80, of Knightdale, N.C., formerly of Zelienople, passed away Thursday at his home.
Born in Pittsburgh on May 3, 1931, he was the son of the late Harry M. and Edna Meyers Hartzell.
He was a Protestant.
Robert retired from Bryant Industries, Morrisville, N.C., where he was a shop foreman. He had worked at the steel fabricating plant in Blawnox before he moved to North Carolina.
Robert loved to work and to go fishing with his grandsons.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Rush Hartzell, who he married May 3, 1972, and by eight children; four daughters, Linda (John) Schlichtkrull and Robin (Tim) Rausch, both of Zelienople, Barbara Plotka of Kittanning and Kathy Lutz of Ford City; and four sons, Robert Hartzell of North Carolina, Dale (Pauline) Hartzell of Cabot, Dennis Hartzell of Slippery Rock and Tom (Holly) Hartzell of Butler.
He also is survived by two sisters, Mary J. Burr of Evans City and Helen Bader of Zelienople, 19 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers.
