James Margaria Sr.
James J. Margaria Sr., 83, of Evans City, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 18, 2022, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his family.
Born May 7, 1939, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Joseph J. Margaria and Anna Cassol Margaria.
Jim was a former member of St. Matthias Roman Catholic Church in Evans City.
“Cuke/Gabby” retired in May of 2001 from Tesone Transport, after his 50+ year career as a truck driver — “Ya Buddy!”
Jim loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He really enjoyed old cars, diesels, making and sharing his homemade wine, and was always joking and laughing. He had quite the passion of conversing with friends, family, and even strangers — he just loved to converse and share stories.
Jim leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 62 years, Bonnie Smith Margaria, whom he married April 23, 1960; his three children, Lisa (Robert) Meinert of Mars, Lynette (Randall) Moore of Renfrew, and James (Carol) Margaria Jr. of Allison Park; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren, with a fifth blessing arriving in January.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his sister, Rose Marshall.
