CONNOQUENESSING TWP — A special competition has been added to this year’s Butler Farm Show: a Little Miss Butler Farm Show contest.

Judy Kennedy was appointed by the farm show board to lead a committee to select a girl between the ages of 8 and 10 to represent the show during the week of the event and at special happenings during the year of her reign.

Applications are available at the farm show office or by calling Kennedy at 724-625-1977.

Each contestant must be from Butler County and not older than 10 as of Jan. 1, 2012.

A poster measuring 14 by 22 inches depicting “What I like best about the Butler Farm Show” must be submitted by each contestant. Posters will be judged as part of a show-and-tell portion of the on-stage interview.

A meeting of contestants will be held at 4 p.m. Aug. 4 in the farm show office.

The judging and selection of the winner will be Aug. 5. For information, call the office at 724-482-4000.
