Ralph E. 'Bub' Rihel

Ralph E. “Bub” Rihel, 74, a 43-year resident of Franklin Township, died at 7:30 a.m. Saturday in Clermont, Fla.

Born in Harrisville, Oct. 19, 1936, he was the son of John Henry Rihel and Mabel Isabelle Vorous Rihel.

He married Margaret “Peggy” A. Frey on Jan. 26, 1957.

Mr. Rihel retired in 1997 from Renick Brothers Mechanical Contractors in Slippery Rock, where he was employed for 42 years. He was a retired member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union Local 47.

Ralph was a member of the St. Christopher Roman Catholic Church in Prospect.

He enjoyed traveling and camping as well as boating and fishing. He especially loved being with his family.

Surviving are his wife, Margaret “Peggy” at home; three daughters, Kathy Keppel and her husband, Denny, of Butler, Barbara Martz and her husband, Robert, of Butler and Judy L. Ansell and her husband, Keith, of Prospect; two sons, Paul Rihel and his wife, Kathy, of Slippery Rock and Joe Rihel of Butler; a daughter-in-law, Cindy L. Rihel of Slippery Rock; 10 grandchildren; a brother, David Rihel and his wife, Linda, of Harrisville; and a sister, Nancy M. Kriley and her husband, John, Butler.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Glenn Rihel; a grandson, Benjamin David Rihel; one sister, Mary Winder; and one brother, Clair Rihel.

<B>RIHEL </B>— A Mass of Christian burial for Ralph E. “Bub” Rihel, who died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011, will be at the St Christopher Roman Catholic Church, 229 N. Franklin St., Prospect, Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Father Joseph Feltz as celebrant. Visitation will be at the <B>Cunningham Funeral Home</B>, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City, Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Burial will be in Prairie Cemetery, Harrisville.
