Glenn “Smellsy” and “Boomer” Wells
Glenn “Smellsy” and “Boomer” Wells, 77, of Butler passed away at 1:50 a.m. Sunday at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born Feb. 8, 1938, in East Butler to the late Dale Wells and Faye (Hetrick) Wells.
Mr. Wells worked as a welder for more than 50 years of service through the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 47.
He was a corporal in the U.S. Marines Corps.
Mr. Wells was a member of the Moose Lodge, American Legion Post 117 and a lifetime member of East Butler Fire Hall.
He enjoyed bowling, his camp, his dogs, especially Cojo, and loved parades. Mr. Wells was a Protestant.
Mr. Wells is survived by his wife of 52 years, Judy (McCune) Wells, who he married Feb. 23, 1963; three sons, Glenn Wells Jr. and his wife, Virginia, of West Sunbury, Vincent Wells and his wife, Tiffany, of Evans City and Dennis Wells of Butler; one daughter, Bonnie Johnson and her husband, Jason, of Cincinnati, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bob Wells and his wife, Jackie, of Meridian and Dale Wells and his wife, Janet, of Butler; and one stepsister, Linda Hoehn and her husband, John, of Butler.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ron Wells, and his stepsister, Linda.
