Bercurys win again with Blue Ivy
WASHINGTON, Pa. — Blue Ivy, trained by Slippery Rock’s Bill Bercury and owned by Renee Bercury, won Thursday’s $17,600 Filly & Mare Open Pace during harness racing action at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.
Blue Ivy now boasts a career bankroll of $630,985.
SRHS football honoring veterans
SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock Area High School will hold a Veteran’s Recognition Night Sept. 2 during pre-game festivities at Troy-Alan Stadium. The Rocket football team hosts Mercyhurst Prep that night.
Veterans who live in both Slippery Rock and Mercyhurst communities are invited. Johnston nets win against 79-1 odds
WASHINGTON, Pa. — Saint K rallied from far back to pull off a win at 79-1 odds for driver Shawn Johnston of Evans City during harness racing action Saturday At Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.
The 4-year-old gelding won a $13,300 Conditioned Trot in a career-best time of 1 minute, 54.3 seconds.
