John M. Weiland

John M. Weiland, 88, of Chicora passed away at 5:10 a.m. Tuesday at Allegheny General Hospital as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

John was born on May 26, 1926, in Oakland Township, Butler County. He was the son of the late Paul John Weiland and Anna Lucy McGinley Weiland.

He retired from the Bessemer and Lake Erie Railroad and was a lifetime farmer.

John loved hunting and John Deere tractors.

John is survived by his two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Betty) Ross of Mt. Chestnut and Judy K. Pearce of Butler; his granddaughter, Christina “Tina” (Jason) Eury of Cranberry Township, and his sister, Joan Bresnehan of Chicora. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews and his companion, Polly Stoughton of Chicora.

John was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth A. Weiland, and his sister, Alene Parker.
