Donald L. 'Don' Johnson Jr.
Donald L. “Don” Johnson Jr., 59, of Slippery Rock, formerly of Grove City, passed away at 8:20 p.m. Tuesday at the Grove City Medical Center.
Born on Sept. 7, 1954, in New Castle, he was the son of Donald L. Johnson and Harriet G. Synder Johnson.
He married Kathryn M. Bittner on Jan. 17, 2013.
He was employed in the auto body business.
He was a member of the Victory Christian Center, New Wilmington, Pa. A graduate of Lakeview High School, Class of 1972, he was a big fan of Grove City High School wrestling. He enjoyed doing custodial work at Victory Christian Center and he enjoyed helping others at Graystone Manor in Slippery Rock.
He is survived by his wife, Kathryn at home; his three children, Jill Scigliano and her husband, Joe, of Dallas, Texas, Donald Lee “D.J.” Johnson of Butler and Paul M. Johnson of Grove City; his two stepchildren, Tara Work and her husband, Justin, and Leah Rinier, both of Mount Lebanon, Pa.; his four grandchildren; his four sisters, Barbara L. Kocur and her husband, John, of Vandergrift, Pa., Carole A. Feil and her husband, Ross, of New Castle, Martha J. Lenhart and her husband, Robert, of Auburn, Ind., and Kathleen Safran and her husband, Martin, of Stoneboro, Pa.; and his two brothers, Harold R. “Butch” Johnson and his wife, Beatrice, of New Castle and Ross Johnson and his wife, Lynne, of Grove City.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Linda L. Johnson; and his stepfather, John Lee Barnes.
JOHNSON — The visitation hours for Donald L. “Don” Johnson Jr., who passed away Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013, will be from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Cunningham Funeral Home, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City. The funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Pastor Rob Cypher of the Victory Christian Center, New Wilmington Campus, officiating.Memorial donations in Dan's memory may be made to the Victory Christian Center, 269 Cowden Road, New Wilmington, PA 16142.
