Edith Esther Young

Edith Esther Young, 84, of Slippery Rock passed away Monday at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Edith was born March 18, 1932, at Elizabeth Steel Magee Hospital in Pittsburgh. She was the daughter of the late John Baxter McCall and the late Esther Rosina Fennell McCall.

She was a retired administrative office manager for several small businesses.

Edith was a member of the Muddy Creek Presbyterian Church. She loved the outdoors, local history, family genealogy and spending time with her grandchildren.

Edith is survived by her brother, David L. (Dolores) McCall of Slippery Rock; two sons, David E. (Ruth) Young of New Paris, Ohio, and Curtis E. (Linda) Young of Ada, Ohio; five grandchildren, Eric, Emily, Kaitlin (Philip), Suzanne and Catherine; nieces, Katheryn (Mark) Weir, Carolyn Weisenstein and Beverly Cannon; and family friend, Cindy Rihel of Slippery Rock.

Edith was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene E. Young; her brother, John A.”Red” McCall; and her nephew, Robert L. McCall.

YOUNG — The family of Edith Esther Young, who died Monday, June 20, 2016, will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday at the Muddy Creek Presbyterian Church. Services will follow at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Matt Kail, her pastor, officiating. Burial will be at the Muddy Creek Cemetery.Arrangements are being handled by the William F.
