Devin Taylor recorded game-highs in points (17) and rebounds (13) to power the Slippery Rock University men’s basketball team to a 69-64 victory at Millersville in a battle of PSAC division leaders Friday night.

Darious Clark added 14 points and seven rebounds, Gerald Brooks 12 points and nine rebounds and Luiz Santos 12 points and six rebounds to help the cause.

SRU (8-2, 5-1) moved ahead of Indiana (8-2, 4-2) for first place in the PSAC West after the Crimson Hawks’ 57-55 loss to East Stroudsburg Friday.

The Rock used a 28-4 run during an eight-minute span midway through the game that proved to be the difference in the contest.

Women’s Basketball

Millersville’s defense held Slippery Rock University to its lowest point total of the season, the fewest field goals and fewest shots attempted in a 68-39 loss to host Millersville Friday.

The Rock (2-8, 1-5), which made just 12 of 47 field goal attempts, was led by Erica Aiello’s eight points.

The team, however, did have its best game at the free-throw line this season, connecting on 13 of 14 attempts.
