Florence Gross
Florence M. “Flo” Gross, 89, of Zelienople, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 14, 2022, while under the care of Passavant Retirement Community.
Born Dec. 23, 1932, in Harmony, she was the daughter of the late Roy Eppinger and Estella Rice Eppinger.
Flo was a faithful member of St. Peter’s Reformed Church in Zelienople, where she taught Sunday school and Bible school for many years.
After high school, she graduated from the Pittsburgh Institute of Stenography and worked as a court stenographer for Allegheny County Juvenile Court.
Above all, Flo dedicated her life to her church and to her family.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her four children, Alan (Diana) Gross of Burke, Va., Diane (Nath) Grinder of Zelienople, Wayne (Sheila) Gross of North Canton, Ohio, and Bob (Jennifer) Gross of Venice, Fla.; five grandchildren, Doug (Betsy) Gross, Katie Gross, Savanna Grinder, Adam (Alissa) Gross and Rachael (Michael) Lindsey; six great-grandchildren; and three siblings, Roy, Don and Stella.
In addition to her parents, Flo was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles “Chuck” Gross, who passed away Nov. 17, 2010; and three siblings, Harold, Eleanor and Rich.
GROSS — The family of Florence M. “Flo” Gross, who died Sunday, Aug. 14, 2022, will receive friends for visitation from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.
The funeral service will begin at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Peter’s Reformed Church, 320 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople, with the Rev. Maurice Smith officiating.
She will be laid to rest privately at Zelienople Community Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation in Flo’s honor to St. Peter’s Reformed Church.
