Eleanor P. Hughes

Eleanor P. Hughes died Friday at the Universal Health Care Center in Raleigh, N.C.

She had lived in Saxonburg for years and due to failing health, she moved to Raleigh two years ago to be close to her family.

She was the daughter of the late John and Mary Toth of Brackenridge.

Mrs. Hughes did various jobs, but loved working in the Highlands School Cafeteria System, from where she retired after years.

She loved the outdoors and went to her camp at the Smith Grove Campground as often as she could and stayed for months at a time. She was an avid card player, participated in fire hall card parties and enjoyed baking pies, bread and buns in her spare time.

She was a member of the Saxonburg VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

She devoted her life to her family and friends and to the service of others.

Surviving are three daughters, Sandi Lloyd and her husband, Art, of Raleigh, Judy VanTine of Trenton, N.J., and Joyce Woolner and her husband, John, of Franklinton, N.C.; five grandchildren, Keith Lloyd and his wife, Buffie, of Wilson, N.C., Kregg Lloyd and his wife, Morgan, of Raleigh, Robin Miller and her husband, Charles, of Franklinton, N.C., Larry VanTine of Trenton and Angie VanTine of Manchester, Conn.; four great-grandchildren, Ashley Fetzer of Republic, Wash., Jared Miller and Kaitlyn, both of Raleigh, and Alexandria Lloyd of Wilson.

A brother, Milan Toth of Natrona Heights; and two sisters, Mary Waltenbaugh of Brackenridge and Ona De Domenico of Florida, also survive.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl M. Hughes, and a sister, Irene LaVecchia.

<B>HUGHES</B> — Friends of Eleanor P. Hughes, who died Friday, Dec. 29, 2006, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Fox Funeral Home</B>, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Mount Airy Cemetery in Natrona Heights.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Community Home Care & Hospice, 7714 Chapel Hill Road, Raleigh, NC 27607.Information is available and condolences may be sent at www.foxfuneralhomeinc.com.
