Donna L. Oblack, 74, formerly of Valencia, died peacefully on Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2022, in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Born in Pittsburgh on April 1, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Harold M. and the late Mary Jane (Truver) Oblack Moser.

She had a keen interest in science and earned B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in microbiology. She was retired from the Department of Veterans Affairs after directing microbiology laboratories in medical centers in Dayton, Ohio, Philadelphia and Cincinnati. She was a volunteer associate professor in the Department of Pathology of the University of Cincinnati School of Medicine. She was a member of Good Samaritan Lutheran Church in Cincinnati. She enjoyed hiking, music and reading, especially mysteries.

Surviving are her sister-in-law, Gay (Paul) Oblack of Litchfield Park, Ariz.; niece, Carrie (Oblack) Cochran and her husband, Loren; two great-nephews; two stepbrothers, David Moser and his wife, Nancy, and Jerrold Moser and his wife, Deanna; and one stepsister, Brenda Greenert and her husband, Robert, all of Butler.

Ms. Oblack was preceded in death by her brother, Paul W. Oblack of Henderson, Nev.; and a nephew, Kevin M. Oblack of Arlington, Va.

OBLACK — Arrangements for Donna L. Oblack, who died Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2022, have been entrusted to THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St. Butler.

Burial will take place in Glade Run Cemetery in Valencia.
