Sy / Megan and Grow Up by Lorie

Sy / Megan,

I have to tell you that I agree with some statements. I am 45 never married ...........no kids. Thank God in one way - that I have not or did not have children to put thru this kind of parental hell

You are right ..parents are fighting one another in court to look A Number One......the children are lost.....why did they marry....they choose not to remember for whatever reason and judges have to sort it out on a limited information.......

I remember ..maybe Ann Landers back in the 80's wrote a piece.. Daddy hates Mommy he tells me so.....half of me is Mommy therefore half of me is bad....Mommy hates Daddy she tells me so........half of me is Daddy therefore half of me is bad.........I am half of them both........therefore I AM 100% BAD... what a shame we teach this to our children.

I have see both good / bad divorces....the ones with the children in mind are good...to the point some of my female friends have handed custody over to the fathers - not that they were bad - they just knew otherwise they would be in court every other week fighting for child support - they got to be the fun parent - every other weekend - not enough money - they didnt pay child support - strangely enough within a year the fathers turned the children back over to the mothers when they cramped their current style....I have seen it the other way...the mother was very selfish and the children are still happy with their father....The Judges only see a limited amount of information.........to bad they dont see it all..........for the kids sake. Perhaps if a friend is going thru a divorce they need more family / friends in the court to speak for them and the children.............

Grow Up by Lorie,

I know your frustration in what you have read. I look past some of it - mechanics in Pa vs Ca...its no different than a man/women at work that recieves no respect... goes home and flips out at their spouse....the old cliche...........However some want to use this forum to voice another view that we have not thought about and thats okay ..its opened my eyes to some differneces...flip side of the coin....look past the other ....its not worth the short time in our lives. I try to see both parts but sometimes I really do not unless someone voices a strong attitude and I can see both sides at that point...not saying I always agree...but at least I recognize...which is half way to understanding and tolerance.....
