White, Dalmagro get academic awards
BLOOMSBURG — Cranberry Township resident Hannah White and Prospect resident Alyssa Dalmagro were among a record 157 Bloomsburg University student-athletes to receive the Division 2 Athletic Directors Association Academic Achievement Award.
White is on the Huskies’ volleyball team while Dalmagro is on the women’s track and field team.
Student-athletes must maintain a grade point average of 3.5 or higher over a minimum of two years to receive this honor.
SR’s Brown gets win against 25-1 odds
WASHINGTON, Pa. — Slippery Rock resident Brady Brown drove horses to two more wins Thursday in harness racing action at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.
Brown drove 30-year-old gelding Valyrian Steel to victory in a $10,500 Conditioned Trot. He then guided Marrakesh Express, a 4-year-old gelding, to a win against 25-1 odds in a $9,900 Conditioned Pace.
Evans City’s Shawn Johnston drove Drewbert, an 8-year-old gelding, to a win in a $5,700 Claiming Pace.
