After northern Butler County experienced flash floods Friday evening, showers and thunderstorms are expected to continue through the weekend, possibly prompting more flash floods in Butler County.

Parts of northern Butler County were included Friday in a flash flood warning issued by the National Weather Service of Pittsburgh. Parts of Butler Township, Portersville, Slippery Rock, Harrisville and Eau Claire were positioned in the area of the flash flood warning.

Butler County’s 911 dispatch said Friday evening they had received some phone calls about roadways that were washed out and basement flooding.

According to the National Weather Service of Pittsburgh, chances of showers and thunderstorms continue through the weekend, with a 40% chance of precipitation Saturday and 30% chance Sunday. Thunderstorms are possible both days and could generate a tenth of an inch of rain each day.

The possibility of thunderstorms grows to 60% going into Monday afternoon, with chances bounding to 70% likelihood after 2 p.m. Tuesday.

Temperatures are expected to reach 80 degree highs those days, finally receding to 79 degrees and partly sunny conditions Wednesday.
